General - english Smoking Ban from July 1st

Smoking in public enclosed places will be banned in England from July 1st 2007 and not a minute to soon for me. I understand this could have an negative affect on backstreet pubs and this is rather sad but my biggest concern is for private members clubs like the working mens clubs in the north. Will this spell the end for club land? People choose to drink and work in these places and I am a little disappointed that we are being regulated to the extent that a groupe of like minded individuals can’t go for a night out in the club and do as we have done for hundreds of years in this country Clubs are just that, members places in which one elects to become a member and participate, if you don’t like it then don’t join.
